About your quest

A malevolent Necromancer has set up residence in the land of Aelrathia and his evil is spreading across your homeland. While destructive forces turn friend against friend and macabre beasts roam the land, his solitary goal is to raise a vast army of the dead and enslave the land once and for all.

Only YOU can stop him.

You’ll battle terrifying beasts, gather dark secrets and make choices that could lead to personal glory or the doom of your homeland.

Excellent artwork, good length of adventure, great path variety, and a novel restart point mechanic.

It has a nice story introduction, random events add variety to playthroughs and getting random loot is a rare mechanic for gamebooks.

I loved the old-school feel while also giving a new adventure with both overland and underground/ building parts.

While it feels similar in some ways to the early FFs, it also feels newer and more expansive than those books generally were.

The illustrations are great and really add to that old school feel of the book - loved them, very evocative and artfully drawn.

James Gill has written some evocatively descriptive text for this gamebook.

[There’s] gorgeous full-page illustrations and even in the filler art. There isn't a bad piece in the whole book, which is quite an achievement.

I thoroughly enjoyed a playthrough of Legion of the Necromancer... it's a very solid first gamebook. I look forward to their next book.
